The Weight of Belief is written from my personal lens as a daughter of a mean narcissistic mother and a she/her voice. If you resonate with this work—no matter how you identify—please know you are welcome here. Healing is universal and your presence is honored.

Disclaimers: I am not a licensed therapist nor do I pretend to be one. I share my personal experiences to support and guide others navigating similar journeys. My expertise comes from over half a century of lived experience as the daughter of a mean covert narcissistic mother who worsened with age.

The death of my narcissistic mother in 2021 was a turning point in my healing journey. While healing is possible in many circumstances, I want to acknowledge that my progress has been deeply influenced by her absence. I’m not sure I would have reached the same level of peace and transformation if she were still alive, even if we were estranged or no contact. It’s OK if your journey looks different. Additionally, though I experienced different forms of abuse from her throughout my life, I had only eight months to process the reality of her narcissism before she died, leaving me little time to navigate or address it while she was alive.
